ARE PRICES LISTED PER PERSON OR FOR THE WHOLE BOAT?

The prices listed are for the whole boat. You can bring from 1-6 passengers aboard. All of our trips are private charters and fully customizable – this is your vacation and we are happy to cater to whatever you're hoping to do while sailing with us.

CAN I CHARTER WITH BLUE YONDER IF I'M NOT in Rockport or ON NORTH HAVEN OR VINALHAVEN ISLAND?

Absolutely. While our standard pick-up and drop-off locations are from Rockport Harbor and the North Haven and Vinalhaven town landings in the Fox Islands Thorofare, we are happy to pick you and your party up at your own dock, or other towns around including Rockland, Camden and others. WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON A DAYSAIL?

Guests are encouraged to bring any food and/or beverages they plan to enjoy (we have plates, bowls, cups, bottle & wine openers, utensils and napkins). If you are 21+ and would like to bring alcoholic beverages, it's fine with us. We also recommend bringing sun protection, a windbreaker or warm layer, a camera if you like, and any other items you typically carry with you. We have plenty of dry storage space aboard, and your belongings will be safely stowed.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING ON A BLUE YONDER DAYSAIL?

You can bring up to six people (including children) on a sail with Blue Yonder. 

WHERE ARE THE PICK-UP LOCATIONS FOR BLUE YONDER SAILING?

We typically pick our passengers up in Rockport Harbor, as well as the North Haven island town landing, or the Vinalhaven town landing on the Fox Islands Thorofare. We are happy to do custom pick-ups elsewhere, so contact us at blueyondersailcharters@gmail.com or (207)491.8551 to inquire!

DOES BLUE YONDER PROVIDE FOOD AND DRINK FOR DAYSAIL PASSENGERS?

We do not provide catering for our passengers unless it is part of a prepaid package, however we are more than happy to arrange for you to find delicious food and drink nearby to bring with you! Contact us for details, or visit our Blue Yonder Guide!

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK ABOARD?

Yes! Please be sure to bring plenty of food and whatever beverages you would like to drink aboard! Alcohol is fine, within moderation. 

CAN I BAREBOAT CHARTER WITH BLUE YONDER SAIL CHARTERS?

We do not offer bareboat charters. As safety is a top priority for Blue Yonder Sail Charters, we believe it is in the best interest of our passengers that a coast-guard licensed professional captain is aboard at all times. 

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED ON BLUE YONDER SAILING CHARTERS? 

Yes! please bring your children. We've chartered with many families over the years and are totally comfortable having any age passenger aboard. We will do a safety briefing at the beginning of our sail, and if there are children aboard we will make sure they understand how to be safe aboard our sailboat. That said, we expect parents/guardians to be responsible for their own children during daysailing adventures.

DO WE HAVE TO WEAR LIFE JACKETS?

Children under 12 years old are required to wear life jackets by law. Older children and adults are welcome but not required to wear life jackets during Blue Yonder sails. We are all about the safety and comfort of our passengers, so please let us know your life jacket needs and we will make sure they are met! If you/your children wish to bring your own life jackets, that is fine as well!

WHAT IF I'VE NEVER BEEN SAILING BEFORE?

No problem! No sailing experience is necessary when sailing with the Blue Yonder team. Our captain, Joel Rowland, has taught many sailing courses to folks who are new on the water, and is happy to ensure you are safe and well cared for while aboard. if you are interested in learning more about sailing, we are happy to teach you and let you participate, however this is also not a requirement. Our captain is fully capable sailing Tammy Norie on his own, so you are also welcome to relax and enjoy the sail if boat handling is not your idea of a good time! Again, these charters are fully customizable, so we are happy and to engage you with the actual sailing part of Blue Yonder adventures at whatever level feels comfortable for you.

ARE ONE-WAY CHARTERS AVAILABLE WITH BLUE YONDER?

Yes! Let us know where you are coming from or going to, and we will give you a quote. This is a great option for people who are coming to vacation on North Haven island this summer who are not interested in taking the Maine State Ferry boat! We can pick you up in Rockland, or elsewhere on the mainland (along with your family/friends/gear for vacation) and transport you via private sailboat to your destination on the islands instead. We think this is an excellent option for getting to or from your summer vacation rental, to Nebo Lodge, Our Place Inn, the Tidewater, or elsewhere....the perfect way to begin (and/or end) your summer vacation in Maine! IS THERE AN ENCLOSED CABIN WHERE PASSENGERS CAN SIT INSIDE?

Yes! We have a wonderful enclosure surrounded by windows up on deck, and a large cabin down below with comfortable seating, a galley/kitchen, head/bathroom, table, books, games, etc for you to enjoy if you would rather not be up on deck!

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

We will not sail if stormy weather presents - safety is our #1 priority, and we would not put our passengers in harm's way. We monitor weather closely, and are well informed of meteorology, weather patterns and what our passengers can expect on any given day. If your charter is scheduled well in advance and bad weather arrives when it's time for your charter, we will sort it out together. Our suggestion is to book for the day/s you want to sail, and we'll handle complications with weather if they arise closer to the date.

is there a saftey briefing and do i need to sign a waiver?

Yes! Before setting sail, our captain, Joel, will provide a safety briefing for your time sailing with us. You can expect to sign a standard waiver that holds Blue Yonder Sailing harmless in the event of any injury or unforseen circumstance.
