We’re happy to be back on the mooring in Rockport Harbor, and are excited to take folks sailing! It has been a beautiful July so far, with plenty of varied weather and plenty of jellyfish in the harbor. Looking forward to many days on the water with new and old friends.

HISTORY

Tammy noriE: A LOOK BACK

In 1994, Joel set off for the Skellig Islands of Ireland as crew for his Uncle, Mike Rowland, aboard Tammy Norie. A detailed log was kept of this journey, but is not currently available on our website. Joel and Mike, along with the rest of their crew, made it to Ireland, wintered over in Lisbon, Portugal, and sailed back to Maine.

In 1998, Tammy Norie set out on another cruise to islands of the North Atlantic. From August 18th, 1998 through May 18th, 1999 Tammy Norie circumnavigated the Atlantic with an intrepid crew of three: Mike, Joel, and Mike's daughter Shifra. This trip was different from Mike and Joel's earlier trip to Ireland and Spain for many reasons, but one of the most significant to the folks back home was that for this trip we had e-mail. As such there is a collected body of correspondence and log entries that were sent out and posted on a friend's website for people to keep track of us (this was only just before the days of blogging). Although that website is now defunct, a quick thinking archivist allowed us to save all of those logs and bring them to you here.
